Taking Control Of Your Life- Being "Of Service"
In this first issue of the new year, I thought it might be appropriate for you to get in line with your life objectives and begin seeing what you want to occur more frequently. One way of doing this is finding a solid philosophy along with a good life coach who can back up proven principles even in troubled times. This can take time and patience, however, it can also happen spontaneously when proven, time tested, wisdom principles are integrated.
Additionally, many of you who have read "Don't Blame The Game" know these principles are detailed in the 4 P's section of the book. I've applied them to my life and you know if I can make them work for me so can you. Everyday life is becoming more complicated and difficult. For the purpose of this newsletter, I've simplified and broken down some simple truths for everyday interactions. These are reminders for those of you who may be confused, have strayed or lost your center:
Human Effectiveness And Success Principles
1. Be a focused listener…what the other person has to say is of utmost importance to them. Hear them out and mirror or validate what they say.
2. Reserve judgment and give your opinion or well intended story only when prompted!
3. Always show appreciation for others. Remember, we are spiritual beings going through a human learning experience rather than human beings having an occasional spiritual experience.
4. To the extent possible, always try to leave the other person feeling good.
5. To the extent possible, give out as much credit to others.
6. Remember, what you give to others, God's Universal energies will always give back, plus more!
--Zig Ziglar, CSP, CPAE
"Nothing can bring you true peace but the triumph of principles"
--Anonymous
"It would be great if every single human being would go into a hospital or funeral home once a day if they believe they have problems!"
--Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
Feelings of insecurity, faulty thinking, anger, hatred, sorrow and grief can be reduced or eliminated when we learn to exercise proven principles and make ourselves available to others. This does not mean what we call in psychotherapy "selling out" or being a "Pleaser." It does mean there is a delicate balance between serving and protecting your self esteem. I can help you with this and other life challenges in private life coaching. Call for a confidential in person or phone session.
